About Nehemia Worship Center

Our Story

Nehemiah 2:20 — "The God of heaven will give us success; we his servants will start rebuilding."

Our Story

A journey of faith, obedience, and restoration in Kakamega County.

Nehemia Worship Center was born from a burden in prayer: to see lives rebuilt by the power of the Gospel and communities restored by the love of Christ. In Mukhonje Market, what began as humble fellowship gatherings became a living testimony of God's faithfulness. Families found healing, young people found identity, and weary hearts found new strength in the presence of the Lord.

Through seasons of growth and challenge, the ministry remained anchored in one conviction: when God calls His people to rebuild, He also provides grace, wisdom, and strength to finish the work. Under faithful pastoral covering, the church has grown into a spiritual home where worship is deep, teaching is sound, and prayer is fervent.

We are a church for the broken, the hopeful, the mature believer, and the first-time seeker. At Nehemia Worship Center, no one is beyond God's reach. We believe every person carries purpose, and every family can become a testimony of restoration through Christ Jesus.

Today, what began as prayer gatherings in Mukhonje has grown into something that defies easy description. Nehemia Worship Center is no longer just a local congregation — it is a movement. Fifteen worship centers now stand across the Northern and Southern regions of Western Kenya, each one a testimony to what God builds when His people dare to believe. We have established a Bible Training College to raise a generation of theologically grounded, Spirit-filled leaders who will carry this fire further than any one pastor can go. We have built New Promise Home, an orphanage in our community where children without families find not just shelter, but identity, education, and the love of a Father who never abandons. We are not merely preserving a legacy — we are building a civilization of faith, one restored life at a time, for generations yet to come.

One movement. Two regions. Fifteen voices declaring the same truth.

What started in one marketplace in Lugari has sent roots deep and branches wide. Nehemia Worship Centers now stand in the highlands of Mt. Elgon and the valleys of Trans-Nzoia, in the market towns of Bungoma and the quieter paths of Malaha. Each branch carries the same fire — different soil, same seed.
